Christmas Break

Hey there, Hi there, Ho Ho Ho there.

So here I am on my Christmas break.  This is the slowest time of the year for the Reptile Parties business.  In fact we only have 2 shows between now and the new year.  One today and one on December 30th.

As a result, holiday.  I haven't had a Christmas break like this since I was in school.  2 weeks off to do absolutely nothing.  Part of me is glad, who wouldn't be, I can catch up on some TV, really make a dent in my Star Trek: The Next Generation rematch, start working out a bit more.  The flip side is that I am also not making any money during this time period.  Means that I can't go out and buy things, so it becomes more like when I was in school.

I was able to make an interesting deal the other day.  I found an add on Kijii where a guy was looking for any used Apple TV 2.  He would either pay $200 for the unit (which was $100 when I bought it) or he would purchase a new Apple TV 3 and give you $60 cash as well.  Turns out that people will pay $300 for a "jailbroken" version of the Apple TV 2 and his supply from the US had dried up.  Hell, I will take a device upgrade and a bit of cash.  I don't know the first thing about jailbreaking devices and as long as it plays netflix and the shows I stream from my laptop, I couldn't care less.

All in all things are good.  There is a big announcement coming from Reptile Parties in the new year that I wish I could talk about as it is heavily on my mind and will be taking up 90% of my time.  However, I have agreed to keep things to myself until everything is finalized.

In the meantime, I will just care for my animals and bide my time.

Merry Christmas everyone and have an incredible New Year.

Christmas...yep

So as the years go by, Christmas seems to mean less and less.  Maybe it's because I am getting older and there is work to be done, maybe its because time just seems to move faster as the years go by and it sneaks up on you faster than it did.

I remember as a kid that I would be chomping at the bit for Christmas as soon as my birthday was over.  I was keen to get started on decorations and watching every holiday special that I could.

Now it almost seems like a chore to drag the decorations up from the basement and get them up.  Sure I will still have flashes of excitement over it but nothing like I used to.

Even the idea of Christmas presents doesn't have the air of excitement that it used to.  As a buyer, I am worried about getting something that is perfect so as not to disappoint.  As a receiver, I am stuck between wanting something cool and something useful.

Ah well, another week and it will all be over fro another year and things can just keep trucking along.

Happy Ho Ho everyone.

I Baaaaaack......again!

Well....it's been over 3 years since I last posted anything on this site.  A lot has happened in that time and quite frankly I am not really in the mood to list it all for you.  Needless to say, a lot has changed.  I am a very different person than I was back then, I live in a different city, I have a different job and I have different thoughts and views on things in the world.

I am very happy with my situation as it is now.  My wife, Jolee is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me.  With her I have seen parts of the world that I never thought that I would get to see and have experienced a happiness that I never thought possible.

I have a new job.  I work for a friend of mine who owns and operates an educational reptile party business.  I am his office manager as well as one of the show hosts who gets to go around and do presentations for families and groups on the wonders that are reptiles and other misunderstood species.  Very soon, we will have a touring company set up and that will take me all over Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan to spread the fun.  Check out our website at www.CalgaryReptileParties.com

Calgary has been very good for me and I am thrilled to be a part of this city.

I don't know how regularly I am going to keep up on this or how often you all are going to read it, if anyone actually does.  I think that this is mostly going to be for myself.

Cheers,

Jeremy
